What is FIRST Lego League?

FLL In Action

FIRST LEGO League Explore - Grades 2-4:
In Explore, teams of students ages 6-10 focus on the fundamentals of engineering as they explore real-world problems, learn to design and code and create unique solutions made with LEGO bricks and powered by LEGO Education robot.

FIRST LEGO League Challenge - Grades 4-8:
Friendly competition is at the heart of Challenge, as teams of students ages 9-16* engage in research, problem-solving, coding and engineering – building and programming a LEGO robot that navigates the missions of a robot game. As part of Challenge, teams also participate in a research project to identify and solve a relevant real-world problem.

Rapid Acceleration is very active within the FLL community in our area. We have a number of FLL teams in many of the area schools and organizations.

Every year Rapid Acceleration hosts a scrimmage for FLL teams to get together and practice their robot runs in a fun, laid-back competition setting. We have hosted many Lego League Explore Expos and hold coaching sessions for teams looking for more information and guidance in running FLL teams.

What is FIRST Tech Challenge?

FLL In Action

FIRST Tech Challenge is way more than building robots. FTC teams (up to 15 team members, grades 7-12) are challenged to design, build, program, and operate robots to compete head-to-head in a challenge with an alliance format.

Rapid Acceleration is proud to be a part of the expansion of FTC in our community. Currently, there are 2 new teams in our area, and we hope to expand that to even more in coming years! Next goal: hold a scrimmage for FTC teams. Long term goal: hold a regional qualifier!
